Dear Gary Ross,

I cannot express in words the thanks and appreciation I have for you. You have made my favorite book in the world into a movie that represents it perfectly. The message of the book is so important, and I was afraid it would get lost in the movie, but thanks to you it didn’t. Even if the Catching Fire movie is stunning and I love it, I’ll always wonder, every time I watch it, what your version would have looked like and that’s the saddest thing of all. Katniss says the three finger gesture from her district “means thanks. It means admiration. It means goodbye to someone you love” so without further ado:
