Thank you for your hard work on The Hunger Games. Though at first I had my doubts, as time passed and you presented one spectacular member after another to us, and then different scenes, and music scores… I realized that you were the best person to bring us THG on film. No matter what you do in the future, may the odds be ever in your favor.
Thank you for EVERYTHING, Gary. I don’t even have the words to really express my gratitude. Thank you for the perfect film. You are amazing, and I can’t wait to see what you do next!
Thank you for taking care of our favourite story and most beloved characters. Thank you for respecting Suzanne Collins and valuing her input to the film. Although there is great anxiety over who could ever possibly fill your shoes after such an excellent film as The Hunger Games, I respect and thank you for stepping back when you didn’t believe you could give Catching Fire the justice it deserves.
I’m just gonna say exactly what I said on tumblr. The thing is, it’s hard to find a loving and caring director such as Gary. He spoke highly of all the actors. He respected the extras. He admired everyone who worked on set, from the make up artists to the lighting members. He cares about the story, about the real message. He knew how to capture it correctly, how to keep the essence of Katniss’ point of view in the movie without making it look weird. He made one of the best movie book adaptations I’ve ever seen, and I’m worried that we won’t get a director as humble and true as him for Catching Fire. He will be missed, by the cast, and fandom. Thank you for an amazing movie, Gary.
Gary, I will definitely miss you.
You were a great director. But more than that, you were a great fan and you understood this series perfectly. It’s thanks to all of your hard work that this movie turned out amazing! I am so sad you’ve decided to not direct Catching Fire. I will miss your input on this franchise terribly!
You will be missed. May the odds be ever in your favor. You did an incredible job.
Thank you for all the time and effort you put into The Hunger Games. No words can express my gratitude to you for bringing Panem to life. You are amazing. May the odds be ever in your favor.
*Three Finger Salute*
Converting book to film is such a delicate process but you nailed it so perfectly, I can’t imagine anyone else who can handle that balance except you. Thank you for an amazing film Gary! I can’t wait to see what you do next
Thank you Gary for everything you’ve done. You gave us a film to believe in and we are really sad to see you go, whatever the reason is. You left us with an amazing cast (Jen, Josh, Liam, Woody, Elizabeth, etc.) I wish you luck on your future endevors and will really miss you for Catching Fire.
*three finger salute*
The Hunger Games was a wonderful movie, and I couldn’t imagine it without you. I don’t why you aren’t returning, but I wish you luck and I hope the director of Catching Fire brings as much passion, dedication, and understanding of the characters as you did.
Even though we are all going to miss you as our director, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You made the movie great and you were just like us and I felt like I could relate to what you said and you understood the real meaning if the story and didn’t make it all about the love triangle. You captured the beauty, glory, and how awful the games are and what our world could become, just like the books. Catching Fire won’t be the same without you.
Gary, as a broadcasting major, I understand your full intent on leaving Hunger Games to work on more projects. I know that you are more of an auteur director, and I completely respect that. We’re going to miss you, but we know you’re on to other things, and we will all learn to respect that. You’re an amazing director and I truly admire you! Someday, I hope to be up in a position like you. Thank you for bringing the Hunger Games to life and making it so true to the book as you did. No one could have done it better than you!
Thank you for all your hard work, and for breathing life into the books we all hold so dear to our hearts. Your artistry is unparalleled and everything you did for this trilogy was simply beautiful and inspiring. The respect and care with which you brought together The Hunger Games is much appreciated. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Gary Ross, you have given us the most incredible movie anyone could have asked for. Thank you so much for all of your dedication and for sharing your vision with the world; thank you for bringing my favorite book to life, and for getting the series off to an amazing start.
Your passion for the book shone through on screen and I’m so glad we were lucky enough to have you direct. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
We’re all going to miss you, Gary. Thank you for doing a phenomenal job with the movie! I hope all of your future endeavors succeed and that you never forget us! Thank you for bringing the Hunger Games to life!
Thank you so much for all the hard work you’ve done, Gary. You’ve given us an incredible movie to be proud of (saw it again today because I can’t get enough). You did an amazing job bringing this beloved book to life and we can never fully tell you how much we truly appreciate it. You’re an incredibly talented and passionate person and I hope we can maybe see you again one day in the future. I hope you know how much we love you, and I wish you all the best with future projects and just life in general. Thank you, for making our dream come true. Thank you for everything. xoxo

Definitely gonna be missed. Why Gary worked was he seemed to have a passion for the source material aka the books…thank you for your great work.
Thank you Gary Ross for an amazing film that us Tributes can be proud of and a cast that do all of the characters justice. You made Panem come to life in the most perfect way and right down until the last minute you constantly had the fans best interest at heart. As sad as I am that you won’t be directing Catching Fire I know you left for the right reasons and are not to blame so thank you for everything, you truly did a marvellous job and you will be sadly missed.

Thank you for caring so much about the fans of these books.. i will be eternally grateful with you for bringing to life one of my favorites books..thank you so much and we will miss you Gary and my best wishes in your future projects : WE WILL MISS YOU GARY! AND THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!
Gary, thank you so much for bringing one of my favorite books to life so wonderfully. The movie was beyond my expectations. You did a remarkable job and will certainly be missed.
Gary, I wish this wasn’t true. You made Hunger Games what it was and your love and determination for it just made it even better. The cast and crew loved you, Suzanne loved you, the fans loved you and you loved them/us all back. I just can’t dream up a better relationship than that. I understand your decision and it’s your decision to make but I can’t help but hurt from the loss of your direction. It scares me about how the next one will turn out honestly since you did such a remarkable job in the first one and making it originally come to life. I guess we’ll just have to see.. but seriously, THANK YOU SO FREAKING MUCH FOR YOUR LOVE AND TIME AND SPLENDID WORK. I couldn’t be a happier fan with the results.
PS- just remember, you’re ALWAYS welcome back to direct Mockingjay or something we fans would defiantly not mind
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the Hunger Games. You took a book that was loved by many and turned it into an amazing movie with an amazing cast. Good luck on you future endeavors Gary. You will be missed.
First off, best of luck in whatever project you work on next.
Everybody else has already said thank you and you’re probably sick of hearing it, but you deserve the congratulations. The film was fantastic!
We love you Gary and you are welcome back in the fandom anytime. <3
Someone who hopes to be as talented a director as you someday
Gary Ross: thank you. You have successfully turned my favorite book ever into a movie. I read the Hunger games trilogy back in March/April 2011 and I found out about the movie around that time as well. I became obsessed with everything. I would look up cast, watch all their past interviews, watch movies they’d previously been in, etc. Your cast was perfection. Before the movie I wondered how they would deliver their performances, but after the first trailer even, I was able to see that you made the perfect casting choices. I never doubted you from the beginning. Also I’ve talked to people who have been extras and said you have been nothing but kind and passionate. You seem just as much of a fan as all of us! I really just want to say thank you. For everything. I cant imagine another director taking your place, but whoever they do choose, I hope they’ll be able to be half as amazing as you have been. It’s been an honor having you as our director <3 *three finger salute* you will be missed.
Thank you, for everything that you’ve done. The accomplishments that you’ve done with this film will never be forgotten because you’re by far one of the best directors to date. Alongside, with the fact that you stayed true to the storyline. You’re exactly like one of us, avid fans of a story that has more many twists and turns, showing empowerment and loyalty to the fullest and etc. Critics say its a “love story” but you showed thoroughly, its not a love story, its more than that and you brought everything to life. You will surely missed by not only the cast but by the rest of us who are fans of the books, the film, and of yours. Good luck with all your future movies and I will surely keep up to date with the work that you have.
*Three-fingered Salute* Gary Ross, we love you. And we respect your decision. I just hope the next director can display the same amount of passion in our beloved story and bring it to life as well as you did. We will remember you, as a true fan of the books.
And now I’m crying… Gary Ross, thank you so much for everything.
So, what? We’re just giving up like that?? I might cry. I really had hopes for this whole franchise. Thank you, Gary Ross, for making The Hunger Games an amazing film. I truly, truly hope that the next director is as good as you. :’(
Dear Mr. Ross,
Thank you for making the Hunger Games ‘Real’ for all of us. What you have done will last: casting and helping to shape so many wonderful characters, creating the world of District 12 and the Capitol and shaping Katniss’ story in a way that respects the books and their deeper message. You will be missed.
Thank you so much for all your hard work on The Hunger Games. It’s going to be so sad to see you leave. I feel like crying now because somehow I know that Catching Fire and Mockingjay won’t be as good because your not directing it :’(
I appreicate everything that you have done for this movie. It was one of the best films I have ever ever seen!!
“Three Finger Salute*
Thank you for everything!!
Gary, thank you so so much for everything you have done with this film. It is rare to find anyone in this industry, let alone a director, with the level of integrity you have with the material. You showed everyone that the message of Suzanne’s books is the most important aspect of the adaptation – without changing the story, adding cheap thrills, or focusing on how much money it will make. We have trusted you from the very beginning to make good choices, and I’m sure this was the most difficult one. We’re going to miss you. Thanks for everything.
Thank you Gary Ross. *three finger salute* You have done an amazing job with the Hunger Games and though it is sad to know you won’t be helping make the next one, I will always cherish the film you did make for it is all things wonderful and great. May whatever you do next be wonderful.

Gary, all I can say is thank you so, so much. I completely respect your decision. What you did with The Hunger Games means the world to me and millions of other fans. I will always admire you and miss you. Thank you. Thank you again for everything.
And now, a three finger salute that means thanks, means adoration, means goodbye to someone you love.
We love you Gary.
Gary Ross. Thank you. The Hunger Games is my favorite series. I love it so much because of what it is about. It is about standing up for and fighting for what is right. What would you do to survive? What is important to you? What would you fight for? That’s what it’s all about. That’s what makes me love the series so much. It’s amazing. and I want to just thank you with all my heart for doing such a fantastic job. Just thank you for making a great movie. The Hunger Games means so much to me and seeing it on the big screen…it was magical. Gary Ross, you are the man! Like a tribute(;! *three finger symbol*

Cuando decidas regresar estaremos esperandote con loa brazos abiertos. May the odds be ever in your favor, gary.
Una cosa mas: GRACIAS.

One more thing: THANK YOU.
Dear Gary Ross,
Thank you for having the guts to fight for the overall style of the film. Yes, especially the shaky cam. It elevated to a whole new level what is possible of a blockbuster. Quality need not be sacrificed for a successful opening.
A forever grateful fan
Gary Ross has made a stunning job in making The Hunger Games film. It’s very popular now because of the absolutely amazing job done. The cast, music scores, script, everything is great about the film. It’s one of the most epic films in the history of filmography.
Thank you Gary for making a great movie for the Hunger Games fans. It was awesome! Now people can have a bigger picture about what it was like to be a part of the Games. Thanks again, Gary. Hopefully you will be director for Catching Fire and Mockingjay!
